A 6th grade a science teacher assigned us to collect insects by suffocating them in a jar with an acetone-soaked cotton ball. I decided to take photos of them alive instead. Years later I learned that film incorporates dead animal parts in the form of gelatin, so I traded one kind of death for another— Art !
